Community Resources

Overview

Escondido Union High School District offers various mental health supports, including school social work services, to students and families in need. The school social workers assist students with academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address the social-emotional-environmental issues that interfere with the educational process. Counseling and school psychological services aim to promote social and emotional development, enhance resiliency, and provide protective buffers within the school community. The school site teams will endeavor to intervene, as early as is feasible, when emotional, behavioral, and/or learning problems manifest and will help build a systematic response to matters that affect student and staff well-being such as bullying, alienation, and student disengagement from classroom learning.

If an individual is in need of mental health support, please escort them and/or contact the counseling department at your site. They will coordinate an appropriate plan of action to support the individual.

In an effort to promote student and staff wellness, a list of community agencies has been compiled for various categories. Please see the list on the left hand side of this page for details. Also, see contact information listed below for counseling department and social worker arranged by school site.
